From Seed to Underwear: Why WAMA Is Different
WAMA is built on one goal: make better underwear using better materials and responsible manufacturing.
From hemp grown without pesticides or herbicides, to fabric dyed to meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 requirements, every step is designed to create underwear that’s better for your body and built to last.
We work with trusted partners across our supply chain to ensure consistent quality, responsible production, and high-performance hemp fabric that gets softer with every wash.
Our Supply Chain
Here at WAMA, our mission is to make the highest quality hemp underwear while putting people and the planet first. As a Certified Green America Business and PETA-Approved Vegan brand, we’re committed to making a positive impact on the world. That commitment starts at the very beginning, when the hemp that will one day be your favorite pair of undies is still just a humble seedling.
From the small, organic family farms enriching their local communities while growing hemp, to the Oeko-Tex certified factories that create beautiful shades of WAMA undies using eco-friendly dyes, read on to learn how WAMA’s supply chain is kind to people and the planet from the start.

Hemp used in WAMA underwear is grown in northern China, where the climate supports strong, durable fibers.
Our partner farms grow hemp without the use of pesticides or herbicides, resulting in cleaner raw material from the very beginning.
The fibers are separated using a traditional water-based process called retting, which avoids harsh chemical treatments and helps preserve the natural strength and softness of the fabric.
Why this matters:
-
-
Cleaner fibers from the start
-
No harsh chemical processing
-
Stronger, longer-lasting fabric
