Our Story
Our mission is to pioneer the hemp underwear industry by making the best hemp undies in the world and constantly improving the fit, function, and design. During this process, we hope to bring more awareness to hemp as an option for clothing, especially underwear.
As we studied hemp textiles, we learned that hemp fabric has many benefits, including being naturally anti-bacterial, super soft, and breathable. We quickly realized that the best application for hemp fabric would be hemp underwear, and that is how WAMA was born.
We started from scratch to create our unique hemp fabric. We had a rigorous and lengthy design process because we would not accept anything less than excellent. For many customers, this would be their first experience with hemp underwear, so we obsessed over every detail, from the stitches and pattern pieces to the colors and overall design. We want everyone’s first experience with hemp underwear to be nothing short of amazing.

Hemp fabric is naturally anti-bacterial and has anti-odor properties. It is comfortable, breathable, and gets softer with every wash. Hemp is also organic and eco-friendly. It is the perfect fabric for your underwear. Why not hemp?
Responsibly made
Our Factories
The worldwide leader in hemp textiles is China, where all of our fabric is sourced and our underwear is made. Because hemp is a niche crop, it is mostly grown on small, family-run organic farms.
We partner with factories that improve their employees’ lives through fair wages and quality working environments, which is why we work with BSCI-certified factories.
Transparency is key, so we have a WAMA team member based in China to oversee production. This lets us audit our factories more easily and maintain close communication.

Our suppliers are required to sign and confirm that they follow the WAMA Supplier Code of Conduct to continue our partnership.

Our fabric is dyed in an OEKO-TEX-certified facility. This means it has been tested for harmful substances and is harmless to human health.
